FRAGILE: Handle with Prayer
Every day at Georgia Baptist Children Homes, we handle the most fragile thing on earth: the heart of a child. Every day so many of these hearts are delivered to our doors broken and shattered.
Shattered by abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Broken through substance abuse in the home. Crushed as victims of human trafficking. Scarred as a result of domestic violence.
When you break the heart of a child, you are breaking the very heart of God. While it is hard to fathom who would break the hearts of the innocent; it is not hard to know who can heal them.
Our children and families come to us from unimaginable situations. On any given day, there are approximately 8,000 children in the foster care system in Georgia. One out of every three children living on the streets will become victims of human trafficking within 48 hours of running away from home. One in fifteen children is exposed to domestic violence each year. Whether overcoming abuse, a difficult family situation, behavioral issues, exploitation, or learning to cope with a developmental disability -we know that real healing can only begin by allowing God to mend their fragile hearts.
